ARTIST PORTRAIT

The idea is to show small portraits of artists we work regularly with in silkscreen printing, or mail artist having participated to my different mail art projects.

DANY PRUM is a 30 years "young" artist from Luxembourg. She likes to use different materials in her work, specially metal and plaster. She is definitivement modern in her approach to art (it wouldn't surprise me if she wouldn't be soon the first artist in Luxembourg to use INTERNET as a creativity tool). Anyhow she is the first one I know of to have an e-mail address. So do not hesitate to contact her at mowgli@vo.lu. Her home gallery is Galerie Clairefontaine in Luxembourg-city where she had shows in 1990, 93 and 95. Dany studied arts in Strasbourg and in the university of Sorbonne in Paris. Her artist carreer started in 1989

On the left is a model she prepared for a silkscreen print.
Below are the 3 elements which have to be used to realise the print. The elements will be lineart- scanned at different brightness levels which individually will be printed in the appropriate plain colour. This print will be realized in about 10 different colours or shades.
The 2 elements on the right are made from an original early century negative, the one on the left is a collage & painting on plaster.














This picture of Dany Prum was taken by WOLFGANG OSTERHELD. Born in Germany, Wolfgang settled in Luxembourg nearly 20 years ago. He has the most extensive collection of portraits of artists, writers, etc. Most pictures on all our webpages are from him. Last year we published a photobook with his portraits.
